Cure Dextra® Closed System Wins New Product Award

October, 2021 – Cure Medical, a ConvaTec Continence Care company, is pleased to announce that the Cure Dextra® Closed System won the 2021 HME Business New Product Award in the Incontinence & Urology Supplies category.

According to the HME Business Press Release, the New Product Award honors outstanding product development achievements by HME manufacturers and service providers. Entries are reviewed by a panel of provider judges selected for their expertise in various product categories. HME Business Publisher and Executive Editor David Kopf said “There was a lot of judging to be done by our panel of HME provider judges,” Kopf continued. “Of course, I want to congratulate our winners and extend my appreciation to all the vendors for sending in their entries. The result is an awards program that showcases some great solutions.”

When asked about the development of the Cure Dextra® Closed System, Tim Palmer, VP of Research & Development said “As with all Cure Medical products, the Cure Dextra® Closed System was developed to meet expressed patient needs. For example, the idea for creating a closed system that could be used with just one hand was inspired by a conversation I had with a patient who was starting to have difficulty cathing because of the progression of Multiple Sclerosis.

From inspiration to prototype testing and feedback – catheter users help inform our product developments and improvements. We believe in this patient centric approach which, in this case, ultimately led to the Cure Dextra® Closed System with proprietary features such as a Support Band plus Tip Advancing Technology with Gripper Arrow.”

John Anderson, CEO adds “The Cure Dextra® is an upgrade to a traditional closed system while still being ‘reimbursement friendly’. It is an ideal addition to any DME offering intermittent catheters – especially one that serves patients with limited hand dexterity. We are honored to receive one of the 2021 HME Business New Product Awards.”
